In Case You Missed it....
Here is the most up to date coverage of all that has been going on in the MHL, in case you missed it...
Down and Out
•7-22-06• William has been down and out with a cold this week and has not come to any practices, or games, even missing the Eastern-Western Conference. Doctors report he was suffering from sneezing, scratchy throat, runny nose and a slight temperature. This case was a Rhinovirus which is mostly common in the summer and which the bacteria grow at 91 degrees Fahrenheit. It is estimated he make his return later this week.
To Eject or not Eject?!?
•7-22-06• The tensions ran high and after only a few minutes of play, Chicago Eagles goalie Andre, checked William from behind. Immediately William turned around and threw his stick in Andre’s direction thankfully missing him but barely. The two players were quickly separated and the question was whether to eject them or not. Both penalties inflicted were worthy to deserve ejection from an MHL game however neither player received any punishment, except of course for Andre, losing the game 12-10. Are the rules getting bent, is a new rule book in order?
A New Arena, For the Better?
•7-25-06• A new arena was built Monday, July 25th however many are wondering whether it is truly a benefit. The new arena had boards and blocked the ball’s exit from the ice 78% more effectively; however, the goalies of both teams had trouble with such easy goals that were scored after a shot straight off the boards. The new rink makes the area of game play more civilized however limits the size of the rink by some amounts as well. Though it has been said to keep the new establishment many are thinking of its more somber effects.
Cracking the Whip!!
•7-26-06• Effective as of the 26th, a new rule book will be created by the founding fathers of the MHL. This new rule book will establish everything once and for all not allowing for any spontaneous rule making come game time. The book will address all that is needed to be addressed from penalties, to points, to time. A version of the rules will be posted soon under the News Section.
The New Compton Thunder
•7-25-06• A new team has appeared on the MHL rosters, they are the Compton Thunder. This team drafted two of the best players in the MHL, Alex L. as their forward and of course Andre C. as their goalie. This sudden draft has left many thinking of what may happen to the Chicago Eagles.
